There is a saying – it takes a village to raise a child. It is especially true for parents of children living with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). Finding a community of not just medical experts, but people who intimately understand the unique challenge of parenting an autistic child can make all the difference.
At Yeshivas Doresh learning center in Florida, you will get all effective therapies including speech therapy (in numerous languages: English, Hebrew, Yiddish, Spanish), occupational therapy, ABA and behavioral therapy, counseling, reading instruction, special education, etc. to educate, inspire, and empower your child.
For those who have verbal challenges, our speech therapy program is a good solution for them. Children with verbal challenges suffer from challenges to be social, or expressing himself, or feeling embarrassed with how he sounds. To help them with overcoming their challenge, speech therapy is offered in a number of forms, such as face to face, Zoom sessions, etc. TOKLA provides local therapists, as well as TOKLA therapists in other places. Therapy is available in Hebrew, Yiddish, English, Spanish, etc.
ABA & Behavioral:
Based on the student’s IEP, our behavioral therapy program is especially beneficial to help a student learn boundaries, consequences, rewards of life, goal setting, as well as other fundamental Executive Functions (prioritizing, self-talk, etc.). Basically, the Yeshiva Doresh learning center in Florida implements a Token Economy (point system) for all of the daily schedule and routine. We have a rewarding system for students who follow the rules and the daily schedule.
Occupational Therapy (OT):
Occupational therapy program is provided for students having IEP. It is conducted in small group settings and one-on-one settings too. We provide instruction and training for various skills and use a lot of life skills, such as laundry, hygiene, cleaning, and cooking as opportunities to teach fundamental needs to help train students to be independent.
